Patient Details
This patient came to us in her late forties with a nose that had been broken in an injury nearly thirty years ago. She was pregnant at the time, correction was postponed, and — as often happens — it simply never got rescheduled. She lived with a crooked bridge and a nose that never quite looked like it belonged to her.
What she asked for was specific, and it wasn't a new nose. She wanted the reminder gone. She wanted to stop seeing the injury every time she looked in the mirror.
Her surgery combined straightening the internal septum with reshaping of the outer nose in a single procedure. Eighteen months later, the bridge is straight with a soft, gently sloped profile, and the tip sits centered and refined.
In her words: she recognizes herself again.
Procedure details (for the technically curious)
Septoplasty with septal cartilage harvest. Conservative dorsal hump reduction to a slightly sloped dorsal line rather than a straight one. Narrowing of the middle third and centralization of the lower third to correct long-standing post-traumatic deviation. Septal extension (projection) grafting with a columellar strut for tip support, de-rotation of the tip, and cephalic trim to refine tip definition. All grafting used the patient's own septal cartilage.
